SWIM 101
4 - 12 yrs old
You will learn:
- Water Acclimation
- Breath Control
- Breath Holding
- Flutter Kick
- Back Kicking Introduction
- In-line Kick
- Surface Swim with Pop-up Style Breathing
Safety skills taught include:
- Go under water & propelling forward
- Jump off side & swim back to wall
- paddling face down & rolling over to a back float.

Group & Private Lessons Structure
- Max Ratio: Coach:Swimmer = 1:4 (Private = 1:1)
- Registration Fee: $55 FAA Annual Fee (which includes AAU membership)
- Session Length: 25 min. sessions
- PRIVATE LESSON BUNDLES:
1, 2, 4, 8 or 12 sessions bundle
- GROUP CLASSES:
Option 1: MO & WE
Option 2: TU & TH
Guppy → 11 - 11:25am or 4 - 4:25pm
Turtle → 11:30 - 11:55am or 4:30 - 4:55pm
Dolphin → 12 - 12:25pm or 4 - 4:25pm
Orca → 12:30 - 12:55pm or 4:30 - 4:55pm

PRIVATE Lessons
- Session Length: 30 min. sessions
- Registration Fee: $55 FAA Annual Fee (which includes AAU membership)
- PRIVATE LESSONS: ( Days TBD )
$360 for 12 sessions (= $30/session)
$320 for 8 sessions (= $40/session)
$200 for 4 sessions (= $50/session)
$120 for 2 sessions (= $60/session)
$80 for 1 session with "ELITE / NATIONAL" Coach
* Add $20/lesson for travel to your home or community pool

- Our goal is introduce you to the Love of swimming and enable your kids to keep swimming as their skills improve. The love of water, to Fun & Friendship, and in turn competition can be a normal progression.

Coaches CERTIFICATIONS
- Swim Lessons University Certified
Swim Lessons University was founded by James Reiser (Founder & Executive Director), who holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Motor Learning with an extensive background.
Jim spent 12 years as the Professor of Aquatics at the University of South Carolina teaching all its’ swimming, lifeguarding, and water safety classes. As a competitive swim coach, Coach Reiser led his USA Swimming club team, Team Carolina, to back-to-back state championships and produced 20 National Top 16 swimmers.
Jim Reiser has nearly 40 years of experience teaching children to swim. He’s also been developing learn-to-swim curriculum since 1993. In 1994, Reiser produced one of the first ever VHS training videos on Teaching Children to Swim. Since then, he has produced a total of nineteen instructional videos to help teachers all over the world improve their methods when teaching infants, toddlers and children to swim. Jim’s unprecedented work earned him dozens of speaking engagements throughout the United States and abroad.
Over the past 15 years, Jim has been recognized as one the top experts in the aquatic industry. He has received numerous prestigious awards and dozens of expert endorsements for his work in training swimming instructors, learn-to-swim curriculum and water safety.
Most recently, the International Swimming Hall of Fame honored Jim with the Virginia Hunt Newman Award for his curriculum and approach to teaching infants, toddlers, and young children to swim.
As the executive director of Swim Lessons University, Reiser has developed a curriculum and online system to train and certify swimming instructors. Swim Lessons University is now being utilized by Recreation Departments, YMCA’s, JCC’s, Health Clubs, Universities, Swim Schools, Self-employed instructors, and more in all 50 states and over 30 different countries.
Competitions
Competitions at the Florida Atlantic Aquatic Center will be available (but not mandatory).
- Those Competitions are run through AAU (Amateur Athletic Union), which is included in your Lessons/Classes.
- $22 Youth Membership
- $35 Adult Membership
- The races are often a flat fee of $5-15 for an unlimited amount of races per competition.
- Competition often last only a few hours, and are an enjoyment for everyone !!!

FAU Parking Permit
If you are in need of a Parking Permit for the academic year (Aug - July), please follow the steps below:
(1) Stop by the Parking Office, show them proof of FAA membership and purchase permit
(2) Email faupark@fau.edu and they will send you a credit card authorization form for payment
All Parking Permits expire on July 31st of each year, and are only valid in Blue parking lots & Parking Garages:
- Buy in the Fall - $52
- Buy in the Spring - $35
- Buy in the Summer - $25
